In Matthew's account of Jesus' last moments on earth, he records the Lord's command to make disciples. If I could sum up the Christian life (which is always a dangerous thing to do), it would be as follows: The people of God loving God and others as a response to His grace exhibited in the Gospel of Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

And one of the most important ways that we love God, love people, obey Him, and spread His good news is through making disciples

The purpose of this blog is to encourage and challenge the parents, students, and adult leadership of Invert Student Ministries at Christ Baptist Church to make disciples!

It is a part of what we are calling The Discipleship Initiative.

How do you know if you are making disciples? Jesus gave many examples of what discipleship looks like (his very life is our model), but one simple question to ask yourself is:
"What is their name?"

If someone were to ask you who you are discipling, could you give them a name? At least one name? I hope so.

It is the aim of this blog to challenge you to do just that while providing practical tips and examples. Please POST your own ideas. This should be a community effort. It's pretty exciting to think about all that God will do through us as we begin to align our very lives around fulfilling the Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-20).

In Christ,
Andy
